Establishing & Maintaining Oral Care 

Your first visit to Summit Smile Innovations is designed to be informative, comfortable, and unrushed.  During this appointment, we take time to understand your oral health needs and establish a clear foundation for your care.  

As part of your visit, diagnostic imaging may be taken to evaluate the health and structure of your teeth and jaw.  This allows us to identify concerns that may not be apparent during a visual exam and to plan care with precision and intention.  

We'll also review your medical and dental history together. Sharing complete, up-to-date information - including recent surgeries, illnesses, medications, and changes in your health - helps us provide care that is safe, personalized, and aligned with your overall well-being.  

Routine dental visits support long-term oral health, function, comfort, and confidence.  We recommend that children begin regular dental visits when their first teeth emerge, helping establish healthy habits very early and allowing us to monitor development as they grow. 

For adults and children alike, regular checkups allow us to identify concerns early and support oral health through preventive, proactive care.  

During a checkup, you can expect a professional cleaning and polishing, along with a comprehensive oral exam.  Your doctor will evaluate the health of your teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues, as well as assess existing restorations to ensure they remain strong and functional.  

Regular checkup appointments typically last 45 minutes and are scheduled by appointment.  We respect your time and make every effort to remain on schedule.  If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice.  

Dental concerns don't always happen on a schedule.  We do our best to accommodate same-day emergency visits, including walk-ins, whenever possible.

Patients experiencing discomfort, injury, or unexpected concerns are encouraged to contact or visit our office promptly.  Our patient support specialists will listen to your concerns and coordinate directly with our clinical specialists to determine the most appropriate next steps and help arrange timely care.
